Captain Edward Sempijja, the head of the Kabaka of Buganda Security (Kabaka Protection Unit), has been reported missing from his workstation for almost two weeks.

While the Katikiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, stated that the officer had informed him of his plan to enroll in further studies, he was not aware of the protocols that should have been followed under the UPDF for anyone seeking leave.

The UPDF Spokesperson, Brigadier General Felix Kulayigye, noted that Captain Edward did not inform the army about his absence from his workstation.

This means he will be declared missing by the army without official leave and will be charged and punished if found alive.

Captain Sempijja was responsible for guarding and protecting the Kabaka. His salary will be discontinued, and he will be declared a suspected criminal.
