Top Police Officer Found Dead In Septic Tank After Developing Mental Disorder
WAKISO –Robert Ojandu, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), was found dead in a small well. The finding was made on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Ojandu’s residence in Ssanga ward, which is in Gombe division of Wakiso district, according to Nakukuba village chairperson Grace Ssentongo.
Sentina Abaro, the deceased’s widow, described the terrible episode in which Ojandu’s mental state mysteriously altered, prompting her to run to the LC1 chairman where she discovered him dead.
He appeared to have a mental problem and was really despondent, but Abaro stated she was unsure of the details.
As of the time of publication, police had cordoned off the area to investigate the situation and gather witness accounts as they prepared to transport the victim’s body to City Mortuary in Mulago, Kampala, for a postmortem.
The deceased worked for the Peace Support Directorate, which is part of Police headquarters.
Ojandu passed away just a day after her husband, a police officer, shot and killed another police officer in a unipot at the Jinja Road Police Barracks.
