Three Wounded In A Global Bus Crash In Mpigi.

A passenger bus operated by Global Bus Company overturned this morning at Nabyewanga on the Kampala-Masaka road, injuring three people.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the Masaka-bound bus, UAX 283 A, lost control while giving way to a canter Diana, UBJ 648J, which was overtaking another vehicle. Three passengers were injured when the bus swerved off the road and overturned.

The Traffic Police Spokesperson, Faridah Nampiima, stated that no one was killed in the incident, but that the injured were rushed to nearby clinics for treatment. The police intercepted the canter, and the driver was arrested while the police investigated the incident.

The accident occurred less than a week after the Police Department issued a warning against reckless driving in order to reduce the number of accidents, particularly during the holiday season.

According to a police report for the period of April 3 to 9, there were 370 accidents, with 72 fatalities, 193 serious accidents, and 105 minor accidents. According to the police, there were 362 victims during the same time period, with 86 people dying and another 86 dying.
