Mark D Urban praises top dancehall artists, including legendary figures and newer talent

Ghetto star and singer Mark D Urban has weighed in on the top names in the dancehall music scene, naming both past and present artists who, in his view, have shaped the genre.
In a feature with Galaxy TV, Mark D Urban was asked to share his picks for the dancehall artists who have stood out over the years.

He began his list with the legendary Menton Summer, and continued to ensure that many of the industry’s key contributors received recognition.
We can’t also forget Weather Man, Kidd Fox, Tool Man Kibalama… the likes that have withstood all this time. We can’t forget Gen Mega Dee, Peter Miles.
Mark was also keen to mention the newer generation of dancehall talent who are making a mark in the industry.
Mudra D Viral is in there, Vyper Ranking, Ziza Bafana has been there, and others. To mention but a few.
However, after being prompted by the Galaxy TV crew about the lack of female representation in his list, Mark made sure to acknowledge the women who have contributed to dancehall’s evolution.
Of course back in the day we had Margla Da Ga Dem who mashed it up, we had Bella, we have Cindy.
