Ministry of Health Rules Out COVID-19 Resurgence In Uganda


The Ministry of Health in Uganda has ruled out reports about the resurgence of COVID-19 in the country.
Through a statement released on Wednesday afternoon, the Director General of Health Services, Dr. Charles Olaro, said that the national health situation is “stable and fully under control.”

“The Ministry reassures the public that there is NO resurgence of COVID-19 in Uganda and the national situation is stable and fully under control since the major outbreak three years ago,” a tweet on the MOH official X handle stated.
The MoH regards the rumors about the COVID-19 resurgence as “misleading” and urges Ugandans to continue maintaining good health practices.
The Ministry of Health wishes to clarify recent media reports suggesting a resurgence of COVID-19 cases in the country. The circulating messages are old clips being re-shared by unscrupulous individuals to mislead the members of the public.
The Ministry reassures the public that there is no resurgence of COVID-19 in Uganda, and the national situation remains stable and fully under control, since the end of the major COVID-19 outbreak three years ago. The Ministry has consistently monitored trends to ensure early detection and prompt responses.
