Exclusive: UCC Acting Executive Director Eng. Irene Kaggwa Sewankambo Shortlisted For Top Juicy Job

In a recent development, the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) board has shortlisted five candidates for the highly sought-after position of Executive Director.

Among the shortlisted candidates is the current acting executive director, Eng. Irene Kaggwa Sewankambo, who has served in the acting role for three years.

Eng. Kaggwa’s impressive qualifications make her a formidable candidate for the top job at UCC. Holding a Master of Science in Communications System and Signal Processing from the prestigious University of Bristol in the United Kingdom, as well as a Master of Science in Economic Management and Policy from the University of Strathclyde in the UK, she has demonstrated a strong educational foundation.

Additionally, Eng. Kaggwa obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Makerere University.

Having served as the Head of the Research and Development Unit and the coordinator of the office of the Executive Director prior to her current appointment as Director Engineering and Communications Infrastructure, Eng. Kaggwa brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table.

Her thorough understanding of UCC’s operations and her ability to effectively navigate the complex telecommunications landscape make her an ideal candidate for the top job.

Eng. Kaggwa’s exemplary track record during her tenure as Acting Executive Director further solidifies her suitability for the position.
