Renowned Ugandan businessman Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia has been appointed Mentor and Coordinator, known by the title Prabhari, of Uganda’s Lohana Community under the Shree Lohana Mahaparishad Overseas Zone 6 for the 2026-2031 leadership term, adding a prominent community governance role to his already extensive portfolio of responsibilities.

The appointment was announced as part of a newly constituted Uganda leadership team that will steer the affairs of the Lohana community over the next five years. Dr. Ruparelia is widely regarded as one of East Africa’s most successful entrepreneurs, having built the Ruparelia Group into one of the region’s largest privately owned business conglomerates, with interests spanning real estate, hospitality, education, agriculture, insurance, and property development. Beyond commerce, he is known for his philanthropic work through the Ruparelia Foundation, which has supported projects in education, healthcare, sports, youth empowerment, and community welfare across Uganda.

The Shree Lohana Mahaparishad operates across Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America, promoting cultural heritage, charitable work, educational advancement, and socio-economic cooperation among its members worldwide. His appointment is expected to bring significant leadership experience and organisational expertise to Uganda’s chapter as it enters its next five-year cycle.
