Hajjat Hadijah Pressures Wakiso Officials Amid Delayed NRM Results
The ONC Manager Senior Presidential Advisor Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye
has ramped up pressure at the Wakiso District NRM Tally Centre, demanding swift transmission and declaration of results amid growing concerns from candidates and their agents.
During her visit, Hajjat Hadijah interacted with the district registrar, Mr. Shaban Kawooya, as well as candidates and their agents, calling for calm and transparency. The situation escalated when one of the candidates, Andrew Kiryowa, openly expressed frustration, accusing polling officials of foul play and intentionally delaying results.
In response, Hajjat Hadijah personally made phone calls to several polling station registrars across Wakiso, directing them to expedite the transmission of official results for timely tallying and declaration.
“We must respect the will of the people. Any unnecessary delays only raise suspicion and undermine trust in the process. If polling ended at midday, why the delay?” she wondered.
