King Michael shares emotional journey after son Eric’s tragic death

Musician King Michael, born Michael Mugwanya, has opened up about the heartbreaking loss of his son, Eric, who died in a tragic accident last year.

Speaking with visible emotion, the singer described the pain of losing a child as one of life’s greatest sorrows.

“Losing a child is one of the greatest pains,” King Michael shared, revealing how deeply he was bonded with his son, who had grown into a mature and thoughtful young man.

We had started having real, adult conversations. He had really matured.

Eric tragically lost his life after being hit by a car while crossing a road in Najjanankumbi.

He was knocked by a car, and surprisingly, it’s the same road I grew up crossing. So you ask God, why something like that had to happen to me.

According to Michael, Eric had just dropped off his music at a local DJ’s place and was on his way back when the accident occurred. The devastating news reached Michael while he was home asleep.

I usually don’t turn off my phone because I receive many messages at night, people letting me know my music is playing in clubs and bars.

Sometimes I don’t answer, thinking it’s fans just checking in. That night, they tried to call me about Eric, but I didn’t pick up right away.

By morning, he had received several messages indicating that Eric had been involved in an accident and was at a medical center.

Initially, Michael was told it was a minor injury and that he could visit later in the evening.

But he had internal bleeding and they didn’t know. As I was heading to the hospital, they called me again and informed me that my son was dead. I parked in the middle of the road, I couldn’t make sense of any of it.

He had gotten a bad cut behind his head that they hadn’t seen, and that’s what led to his death.
