Entebbe: The Office of the National Chairman (ONC) led by Chief Muzzukulu Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo has empowered Wakiso Bazzukulu on behalf of President Museveni and First Lady Mama Janet Museveni with startup tools.
The event, which attracted thousands of Bazzukulu ba Jjaja took place at Entebbe Muslim Grounds, Entebbe Municipality on June 27, 2024, aimed at uplifting residents from poverty.
Hajjat Namyalo, representing both President Museveni and First Lady Mama Janet Museveni, addressed the crowd, thanking them for their unwavering support they have shown for ONC and the NRM party.
During her address, she emphasized the importance of this empowerment drive in bridging the gaps while waiting larger government programs such as PDM, Emyooga, and the Youth Livelihood Funds, which often face bureaucratic delays.
“As you wait for the government’s poverty alleviation programs, the President and I, along with other well-wishers, have decided to give out tools that can help you start small businesses and improve your livelihoods,” Namyalo stated.
Among the items distributed included fishing nets, water life jackets, gumboots, hair dryers, hair cutting machines, poultry chicks, hoes, sprayers, popcorn and chips frying machines, poultry chicks and their feeds, and many more.
Two boda boda youth groups from Entebbe and Wakiso also received a special boost with brand new motorcycles, courtesy of Honda by Markh Investments.
Hajjat Namyalo also called upon all the beneficiaries to use these tools effectively and warned against selling them, noting that ONC coordinators and local leaders will conduct follow-ups.
Namyalo assured the residents of Wakiso district continuous support and promised to extend the empowerment drive across the whole district, including Busiro, Kasangati, Nansana, and Kira municipalities. “Those who have not benefited yet, please be patient. We are coming to your areas soon,” she noted.
These empowerment program aligns with President Museveni’s vision of economic independence and resilience for Ugandans, reinforcing the NRM’s commitment to improving livelihoods.
Namyalo concluded by urging the community to continue supporting President Museveni’s leadership as they look forward to the 2026 elections
