“Being a minister is not necessarily the best thing in life. My horizon is far beyond that. Let’s serve Uganda. Cheers.”Baryomunsi’s response struck a defiant yet measured tone, emphasizing public service over holding office, even as tensions play out publicly between senior figures in government and the military.

The exchange has intensified public debate over the growing political influence of senior military officers, the impact of social media on governance, and the challenges faced by government communicators amid competing public voices.

As of publication, neither State House nor the Office of the President has issued an official statement clarifying whether Gen. Muhoozi’s remarks represent an official position on Cabinet appointments.
