Mt Moroto Region Receives 49 Motorcycles for Sub-County Policing

By Richard Onapatum
Mt Moroto Region has received 49 motorcycles from Police Headquarters to strengthen policing and improve security operations at the sub-county level.
The motorcycles are expected to enhance police mobility, community policing, rapid response to incidents and supervision of police operations across the region.
IP Mike Longole, the Mt Moroto Regional Police Spokesperson, said the motorcycles will be distributed to various sub-counties across the region’s five districts under the Sub-County Policing Model.
“The motorcycles are meant to enhance mobility, community policing, rapid response to incidents and supervision of police operations at sub-county level,” Longole said.
He said the motorcycles would enable police officers to reach communities more easily and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
The motorcycles will be deployed across Moroto, Napak, Nabilatuk, Kotido and Abim districts.
Longole commended the Inspector General of Police for the logistical support, saying the motorcycles would contribute to improved police service delivery and security in the region.
“We pledge proper use and maintenance of the motorcycles for improved service delivery and security,” he said.
He urged officers who will receive the motorcycles to use them responsibly and ensure they are properly maintained.
Police said the motorcycles will be strictly used for official duties under the Sub-County Policing Model, which seeks to strengthen police presence at the local level, bring policing services closer to communities and improve coordination and response to security incidents.
