Asaba Jockim and his longtime fiancée Masika Ashet sealed their union on 31 December 2025 in a ceremony that blended quiet reverence with community celebration, marking the close of the year with a personal milestone for the couple and their families.
The wedding took place at Buhesi Seventh Day Adventist Church, where friends, relatives and fellow worshippers gathered as the two exchanged vows in a service shaped by faith, tradition and shared history.

The ceremony was officiated by pastor Isingoma J. Bosco from the Mugusu Church District, who urged the couple to anchor their marriage in patience, mutual respect and spiritual commitment.
Speaking after the service, one family member described the moment as deeply moving, saying the atmosphere inside the church reflected not only joy but a sense of purpose. “It felt like a covenant witnessed by the entire community,” the relative said, noting the careful simplicity that defined the service.

Celebrations continued later in the day at a reception held in Kyeibumba Cell, Rwimi Town Council in Bunyangabu District, where the formal tone of the church gave way to music, laughter and warm exchanges among guests.
Neighbours and friends joined family members in congratulating the newlyweds, with many remarking on the couple’s calm presence amid the festivities.
A close friend of the groom said the reception captured their character, describing it as “elegant without excess, joyful without losing its meaning.”
The wedding came just a day after a lavish introduction ceremony in Bumate, Bundibugyo Town, where Masika Ashet formally presented her future husband to her parents and extended family on 30 December 2025.

The event, rich in colour and cultural symbolism, marked a significant step in the journey toward marriage. Elders offered counsel, blessings were exchanged and the gathering affirmed the bond between the two families, setting the tone for the wedding that followed.

For many who attended both events, the transition from the traditional introduction to the church ceremony and then to the community reception told a complete story of continuity between culture, faith and modern life.
As the year drew to a close, the marriage of Asaba Jockim and Masika Ashet stood as a reminder of enduring values and new beginnings, celebrated not with spectacle alone but with a sense of shared belonging and quiet confidence in the future.
