Muhoozi Bobi

The National Unity Platform’s (NUP) president, Mr. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, often known as Bobi Wine, has urged Ugandans to stop aiding Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba in securing the presidency.

The first son, Gen Muhoozi, who serves as the president’s special operations adviser, has shown a desire to succeed his father as president.

Since Uganda is not a monarchy, Mr. Kyagulanyi encouraged Ugandans to stop a potential transfer of power from the father to the son.

“I’m here to spread the revolutionary message that [President] Museveni must be removed from office. He now wants to bring his son so they can torment Ugandans the same way. By removing Mr. Museveni from office, we can stop that from happening, Mr. Kyagulanyi stated on Wednesday while addressing his supporters at Bamboocha Gardens in Kasese Town.

He criticized Gen Muhoozi’s national political efforts, alleging that he was giving out money to the populace in order to win support.

Museveni has been attempting to bring his son since he is exhausted and unable to manage. His son has been using cash to purchase people. Museveni is aware that we are serious since we have brought him and his son to the ICC, he said.

The NUP leader urged people to use their phones as tools for social change.I advised you to use your phones when I first started this national tour because they are larger than a pistol, he remarked.

Elections, according to the NUP leader, cannot bring about change in Uganda.

“Museveni has been vanquished by us multiple times. He was beaten by Dr. Besigye in 2016 and by me in 2021. Every day of the week, including twice on Sunday, I can defeat Museveni, but you know that elections alone are insufficient. More needs to be done, he said.

Gen. Muhoozi’s status as the first son does not prevent him from deciding to run for president, according to Mr. Godfrey Kabbyanga Baluku, State Minister for ICT and National Guidance, who was contacted yesterday.

“It is not accurate to say that President Museveni is supporting his son in his bid for the presidency. Let Kyagulanyi speak at length about his goals and his tour schedule for the country. Speaking of Muhoozi, that is dishonest politics, he declared.

Kingdom of Rwenzururu

In order to generate money for the return of Rwenzururu King Charles Wesley Mumbere, Mr. Kyagulanyi promised to support their efforts. To support King Mumbere’s homecoming festivities and to purchase Springs International Hotel as a new palace, the Rwenzururu Kingdom aims to raise Sh9 billion.

The official residence of the Rwenzururu Kingdom, the Buhikira Royal Palace, was demolished in 2016 during a security operation that sparked a fight that claimed more than 100 lives.

“I am aware that you are raising money to help with the king’s return. Additionally, I have urged every NUP member of parliament to support this cause and contribute at least Shs10 million to it. As a show of support for you, our people, I will also contribute to that, Mr. Kyagulanyi remarked.

As the people of Kasese prepare to welcome their monarch back on October 4 after nearly seven years away due to his incarceration in 2016, Kyagulanyi declared his desire to do the same.
