Rajiv Ruparelia’s Humanitarian Legacy To Be Celebrated at Pan-African Pyramid Global Awards 2026

The Pan-African Pyramid (PAP) is set to posthumously recognise the late Ugandan businessman and philanthropist Rajiv Ruparelia with a prestigious Humanitarian Award at the 9th Pan-African Pyramid Global Awards 2026 and 12th Anniversary Dinner, scheduled for August 29, 2026, at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala.

The decision to honour Rajiv was announced by the Pan-African Pyramid Awards Committee in a statement issued through the Office of the Speaker, which said the recognition was unanimously agreed in appreciation of his humanitarian work and the impact of his philanthropy in Uganda, across Africa and beyond. According to the organisers, Rajiv’s legacy extends well past his achievements in business — through his involvement in charitable initiatives and the Ruparelia Foundation, he supported programmes in education, healthcare, sports, youth development and community welfare, extending opportunity and assistance to people in need. “Rajiv impacted countless lives and inspired a generation of young African entrepreneurs and philanthropists,” the committee’s statement noted.

Organisers confirmed that Ruparelia Group Chairman Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, his wife Jyotsna Ruparelia, and other members of the Ruparelia family are expected to attend and receive the award on Rajiv’s behalf. The awards dinner is expected to draw a diverse gathering of African leaders, diplomats, entrepreneurs, corporate executives, cultural figures, media personalities and Pan-African advocates from Uganda, across the continent and the diaspora — among the prominent guests expected is Zimbabwean Pan-African thinker and clergyman Bishop Joshua Maponga Marara III.

Expanding Rajiv’s Humanitarian Legacy

Beyond the award itself, the Pan-African Pyramid is exploring a potential humanitarian partnership with the Ruparelia Foundation through its annual “X-Mas With Refugees” initiative — a programme held every December 20 in partnership with the Office of the Prime Minister’s Department of Refugees, providing humanitarian assistance and solidarity to vulnerable refugee communities across Uganda. Organisers believe connecting the initiative with Rajiv’s philanthropic legacy could broaden its reach and mobilise additional support for displaced and vulnerable communities across the continent, building on his commitment to humanitarian causes while creating a platform through which his values of compassion, youth empowerment and community service can continue to benefit future generations.

Celebrating an African Humanitarian Legacy

The Pan-African Pyramid positions itself as an emerging continental platform dedicated to recognising African leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators and humanitarians whose work contributes to unity, development and social transformation. For the organisation, honouring Rajiv Ruparelia represents more than a posthumous award — it is intended to celebrate a young African entrepreneur whose life combined business ambition with a genuine commitment to giving back. The August 29 ceremony at Speke Resort Munyonyo will therefore serve both as a tribute to Rajiv’s humanitarian contributions and as a platform for renewing the call for African-led philanthropy, solidarity and collective responsibility in addressing the continent’s social challenges.
