Buziga, Uganda:– Kabojja International School marked a significant milestone last week with its 18th graduation ceremony, honoring the achievements of its Cambridge Year 11 and Year 13 students.
Held Saturday, June 14, at the school’s Buziga campus, the event was a vibrant celebration of academic excellence, personal growth, and the enduring spirit of a community dedicated to shaping global citizens.
The ceremony, attended by distinguished guests, proud parents, faculty, and students, featured heartfelt speeches, emotional farewells, and forward-looking messages that underscored Kabojja’s commitment to holistic education.
This year’s graduates, who navigated challenges including the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrated remarkable resilience, discipline, and ambition, earning accolades for their academic and personal accomplishments.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Benon M. Kajuna, Managing Director of Uganda Railways Corporation, delivered an inspiring address, urging graduates to embrace perseverance and purpose in their future endeavors.
Drawing from his distinguished career as a transport economist and infrastructure leader, Mr. Kajuna emphasized, “Success is not just built on knowledge but also on perseverance, values, and a sense of purpose.”
His words resonated deeply, encouraging students to approach their next chapter with strategic thinking and unwavering resolve.

Visionary Leadership and Institutional Milestones
Owek. Ahmed Lwasa, Director of Kabojja International School, highlighted the graduation as a pivotal moment, not an endpoint but a launchpad for new possibilities. “As you move forward into universities, careers, or personal pursuits, carry with you the enduring ethos of Kabojja International School,” he advised the graduates, urging them to act with integrity and curiosity.
Mr. Lwasa also shared exciting developments, including the school’s full authorization to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP), with the Diploma Programme (DP) in progress.
He announced the upcoming launch of a state-of-the-art Health Club facility to promote student well-being and the introduction of a Special Learners Programme and daycare in August 2025, reinforcing the school’s commitment to inclusivity and comprehensive education.

Mr. Sam Turya, Principal and CEO, paid tribute to the graduates’ resilience, particularly those who completed their education during turbulent global times.
“Through challenges, you have developed critical skills like communication, creativity, and critical thinking,” he said, affirming Kabojja’s pride in being a fully-fledged Cambridge school and a recognized IB World School.

The ceremony was enriched by emotional speeches from class teachers, who reflected on their students’ transformative journeys. Ms. Kabakama Emily, representing the Year 11 teaching team, recalled the class’s adaptability during the COVID-19 disruptions.
“You didn’t let the situation define you. You showed up—day after day—willing to adapt, grow, and strive,” she said, celebrating their academic achievements and leadership roles as prefects, club leaders, and mentors.

Mr. Davis Kazibwe, class teacher for the Year 13 May-June cohort, delivered a poignant farewell, blending humor and wisdom. “I’ve watched you grow from shy, curious learners into bold, articulate young adults,” he told his students.
“Don’t chase success at the cost of joy. You can rise and still stay rooted,” he added, drawing tears and applause, encapsulating the deep bond between teachers and students.
Ms. Sandy Bansal, Head of High School (Cambridge), reminded graduates of their indelible mark on the school community. To Year 13 students, she said, “You are stepping into a whole new world. The knowledge and values you’ve gained here will continue to guide you.”
For Year 11 students, she encouraged them to return for the Sixth Form, urging them to seize new opportunities with purpose.
