The crime scene was promptly visited by a team of police officers led by Divisional CID officer D/SP Nuwamanya, along with other officers, including the Scene of Crime Officer (SOCO) D/C Masereka.

A case of murder by shooting has been officially opened with reference number 44/20/01/2024. The firearm used in the incident has been recovered and secured for forensic analysis by the SOCO team.
