Jinja NRM General Secretary Death Shocks Shocks The Public
Mr William Kato Kaziba, the district general secretary of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Jinja, died mysteriously.
Mr Kaziba died on Tuesday at Nile International Hospital after collapsing at his home in Igombe Village, Buwenge Rural Sub-county, Jinja District.
Mr Denis Kamali, the chairman of the area LC1, stated that when Kaziba became dizzy, he was rushed to Buwenge Hospital before being referred to Nile International Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Mr Ali Kilume, the Political Assistant to Ms Manjeri Kyebakutika, the Jinja Woman Member of Parliament, claimed he spent the whole Tuesday with the dead, who was not sick.
“His death has astonished me because he drove his car expertly while claiming he was hurrying home to see the news on TV; yet, I was surprised to find that he had died,” he said.
There was no medical report on Kaziba’s death as of press time.
Mr Kaziba, who became the Jinja district NRM General Secretary in 2016, has been praised by the Buyengo Town Council NRM chairman, Moses Banalya, as a loyal member of the party.
“Prior to his death, Mr Kaziba was an arbiter in numerous problems within the party office and was processing its transfer because it was housed on a building that was taken,” Mr Banalya said.
“The deceased was always defending the NRM whenever it was attacked by the Opposition,” he added.
