Kampala: In an unexpected turn of events at the Kololo Independence Grounds during President Museveni’s invitation of the MK Movement to celebrate the graduation of over 45,000 students, students from an undisclosed school stirred up excitement as they passionately endorsed Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba as the “standby generator” to succeed President Museveni.

The unidentified students, displaying uncontainable enthusiasm, hijacked renowned activist Frank Gashumba, chanting “standby generator” in reference to Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba as the ideal successor to President Museveni. Witnesses at the scene reported that the students fervently expressed their belief that Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba should be the next president of Uganda.

Frank Gashumba, caught up in the spirited moment, was visibly moved by the students’ affection and support. The ecstatic and unruly students credited Gashumba for his love and dedication to their cause. Gashumba, known for his advocacy for youth empowerment, took the opportunity to address the students and urged them to remain focused on education, emphasizing its transformative power.

“Education is the key to becoming better individuals in the future,” Gashumba passionately advised the students, urging them to channel their energy into academic pursuits that would contribute to their personal growth and the development of the nation.

Despite the unexpected interruption, Gashumba handled the situation with grace, steering the students towards a more constructive path. Following Gashumba’s words of wisdom, the students, still buzzing with excitement, requested a group photo with the affectionately called “Uncle Gashumba.”

The incident, though unscripted, added a layer of spontaneity to the graduation ceremony, showcasing the unpredictable nature of public events. The fervent endorsement of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba by the anonymous school students underscored the diverse perspectives on Uganda’s political future.

As the ceremony continued, President Museveni, unaware of the unexpected turn of events, presided over the graduation proceedings, further highlighting the dynamism and unpredictability of public engagements in Uganda’s vibrant political landscape.
