Police Raids Club 9 Massage Parlour, Arrests 4 Staffs Over Homosexuality

Police in Buikwe have raided Cloud 9 massage parlor and arrested four staff over allegedly practicing homosexuality.

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga identified the suspects as Patricia Nantume, Hope Nawasasira, 20, Douglas Kibirige, 25, and Denis Kirumira, 27, who are currently detained at Njeru police station. 

The four suspects were arrested over the weekend following a tip-off from former worker, Patricia Nahabwe who had been dismissed from her job at the parlor without compensation. Nahabwe reported her termination and allegations of homosexuality at the establishment to the area defense secretary. 

She stated “I was brought to work at Cloud 9 by Patricia Nantume but she has now sacked me without pay. We have been massaging people, offering oral and anal sex to clients. Most of our clients are Indians and they pay us to give them anal sex,” as relayed to the defense secretary. 

Hellen Butoto, Ssezibwa Regional police spokesperson, confirmed that Nahabwe provided consistent details about the activities at Cloud 9, prompting the defense secretary to involve the police and initiate an operation. 

“The practice has been going on but because they need money they would accept. She also told us that the business owner (Nantume) has an artificial penis (vibrator) which she also uses on the ladies who are working at the massage and she captures the video which she posts on TikTok,” said Butoto. 

“The scene was well documented and four suspects were arrested to help with investigations. The search was carried out and a number of things were recovered. These include an artificial penis, two packets of shisha flavor, bottles of oils used for either massage or even as lubricants for anal sex, and four tripods which she has been using to mount cameras to capture their activities which they post on TikTok,” explained Enanga. 

Uganda recently passed a law criminalizing homosexuality, which came into effect following President Yoweri Museveni’s assent. Since the enactment of the law, a significant number of homosexual-related suspects have been apprehended in Buikwe, Jinja, and Iganga. Many of these individuals have been found recording and sharing their activities on platforms like TikTok or YouTube.
