Hoima City, Uganda – January 26, 2024
In a remarkable convergence of faith and national celebration, over 415 members of the Faith of Unity, led by Omukama Ruhaga Owobusobozi Bisaka, joined the festivities at Boma grounds in Hoima city to commemorate the 38th National Resistance Movement (NRM) Liberation Day.
The three-day event, organized by Faith of Unity believers in Hoima Bukwenda Diocese, witnessed thousands of believers and non-believers participating in prayers, celebrations, and expressing gratitude to President Yoweri Museveni for his role in bringing peace to Uganda.
Omukama Ruhaga Owobusobozi Bisaka, the head and founder of the Faith of Unity, took the opportunity to thank President Museveni for recognizing the faith’s mission to end witchcraft in the Bunyoro Sub-region. He highlighted the challenges faced by the Faith of Unity during its inception 43 years ago and praised the President for investigating and acknowledging the positive impact of their work.
President Museveni, in his efforts to eradicate witchcraft and night dancers in Bunyoro, found Owobusobozi doing an excellent job in promoting unity among Ugandans. Owobusobozi expressed gratitude, stating, “It’s in Faith of Unity where we only rest three days in the month and spend the rest working, promoting the values of oneness and leaving behind time-consuming religious practices.”
The celebration kicked off with a holy march in Hoima, where millions of people, believers, and non-believers joined Owobusobozi in a procession towards Boma grounds. The overwhelming turnout caused delays in accessing the venue due to the sheer number of participants seeking spiritual and physical healing from Omukama Ruhaga Owobusobozi Bisaka.
Members of Parliament and local leaders were in attendance, showing their support for the Faith of Unity and acknowledging its positive impact on the community. Over 400 individuals also entered into the intambiro (spiritual dedication) of Omukama Ruhaga Owobusobozi Bisaka during the celebration.
The event also marked the 38th anniversary of the liberation of Uganda in 1986, as President Museveni had promised a fundamental change during his swearing-in ceremony on January 29, 1986. The NRM Liberation Day celebrations serve as a reminder of the patriots’ dedication to liberate Ugandans from tyrannical regimes, ushering in a new era of hope and rebuilding for the country.
