Archbishop of Seventh-Day Adventist Church Holds Bilateral Discussions with Buganda Kingdom Premier

In a groundbreaking visit, Archbishop Pr. Moses Maka of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Uganda, met with Buganda Kingdom Premier Charles Peter Mayiga at Bulange Mengo this morning. The purpose of their bilateral discussions was to explore opportunities for collaboration and discuss ways in which the Kingdom and the church can work harmoniously together.

This historic visit marks the first time an Adventist pastor has made a formal visit to Buganda since Charles Peter Mayiga assumed the position of Kingdom Premier. As both leaders convened, their discussions revolved around fostering mutual understanding, cooperation, and enhancing the relationship between the church and the kingdom.

During the meeting, Archbishop Pr. Moses Maka expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and emphasized the importance of unity among religious institutions and cultural authorities. He highlighted the shared values and principles between the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and the Buganda Kingdom, such as promoting peace, justice, and community development.

Premier Charles Peter Mayiga, in turn, expressed his appreciation for the visit and voiced his commitment to exploring avenues for collaboration between the Kingdom and the church. He acknowledged the significant influence that religious institutions have in shaping society and called for a continued partnership in implementing community development programs, raising awareness about health initiatives, and promoting education, among other areas of interest.

The discussions also touched upon the role of religious institutions in addressing social issues, including poverty, healthcare, and moral values. Both Archbishop Pr. Moses Maka and Premier Charles Peter Mayiga agreed on the importance of working hand in hand to uplift the well-being of the people within the Buganda region.

The visit by Archbishop Pr. Moses Maka signifies a new era of cooperation and understanding between the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and the Buganda Kingdom.
