NRM Mayoral Aspirant Seth Murari Vows to Champion Unity, Fight Corruption and Modernize Mbarara City

Kampala , Uganda — Seth Murari vying for the NRM flag as the Mayor for Mbarara City in the upcoming mayoral primaries has pledged to leverage international experience to transform the city, with a strong focus on unity, infrastructure development, and inclusive leadership.
Addressing journalists, the aspirant—expressed deep commitment to working with all sectors of society to uplift Mbarara city’s standards and improve service delivery.
“I have had the privilege of experiencing many different countries and diverse parts of the world,” the candidate stated. “But now, I wish to bring that knowledge, experience, and expertise home to serve our city.”
He emphasized the importance of unity and inclusivity in leadership, promising to work closely with youth, women, local council leaders (LCs), and stakeholders from all regions and tribes to build a better city.
“We must come together as one people—to fight corruption, develop infrastructure, nurture talent, and expand the income and tax base of our city,” he said. “This is a collective responsibility that requires everyone’s effort.”
While the candidate acknowledged that the city is facing several challenges, he struck an optimistic tone, promising a fresh start under his leadership.
“We will ensure that our city becomes far better than it is today,” he added, rallying his supporters to believe in a shared vision for growth and transformation.
As the NRM primary elections draw near, the aspirant joins a growing list of contenders seeking to carry the party flag in the mayoral race, setting the stage for what is expected to be a competitive contest grounded in ideas, experience, and service to the people.
