On Saturday, July 6, a grand celebration took place in Kyabuuza village, Lyantonde Town Council, as Ms. Najjagwe Rahmah Saad, a candidate for the Lyantonde District Woman Member of Parliament, and her husband, Mr. Buyinza Abdul-Raheem, celebrated their Nikkah and introduction ceremony.

The ceremony was a spectacular display of love and affluence, drawing thousands of attendees. Distinguished guests included Senior Presidential Advisor Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye and the current Lyantonde Woman MP, Ms. Pauline Kemirembe, who added prestige to the event.

The festivities commenced with a convoy escorting Mr. Buyinza to the village at 4 PM. By 5 PM, the Nikkah, an Islamic marriage ceremony, was performed at Rahmah’s parents’ home with both families and Muslim clerics in attendance. The ceremony blended elegance with cultural tradition, marking the start of the couple’s union.

Following the Nikkah, a vibrant introduction ceremony took place, where the groom was formally welcomed into the bride’s home. The event was notably opulent, leaving a lasting impression on the locals.

Given the couple’s professional ties to SPA Namyalo at the Office of the National Chairman in Kyambogo, many in-laws’ tent attendees were colleagues dressed in traditional attire—men in white tunics (Ekkanzu) and jackets, and women in Gomesi and Mushanana.

Hajjat Namyalo addressed the gathering, extending her best wishes to the couple. She emphasized the importance of mutual respect and forgiveness in maintaining a strong marriage.

Ms. Rahmah, now Mrs. Buyinza, expressed her gratitude to SPA Namyalo for her support and kindness. She also thanked her parents and ONC staff for their unwavering support. Eyeing the Lyantonde Woman MP seat, Rahmah was full of praise for her husband for formalizing their union, fulfilling a significant aspiration for many women.
