The World Bank Did Not Create Human Beings: Go To Hell With Your Evil Money – Furious MPs Backfire On The World Bank’s Decision
Furious Members of Parliament (MPs) have expressed worries about the impact of Ugandan homosexual rights activists and recommended the World Bank to be vigilant when considering their assertions, characterizing them as self-interested people.
Mps also claim that these activists are solely interested in advancing their own interests and will eventually stop speaking out in favor of homosexuality once they achieve what they want.
In response to the World Bank’s decision to halt funding for projects in Uganda as a result of the passage of the Anti-Homosexuality Act 2023, these statements were made at a press conference held at Parliament.
The World Bank claimed that the suspension was due to human rights violations and demanded that Uganda adopt appropriate measures to safeguard minority groups, especially the LGBTQ+ population.
Concerns have been expressed concerning the World Bank’s inconsistent attitude in dealing with other nations that also outlaw homosexuality, despite the fact that the World Bank’s move was motivated by Uganda’s new severe laws, which includes life imprisonment and even the death penalty for some activities.
Alternative funding options have come under scrutiny if it is thought that the World Bank is using its cash to sway political outcomes.
The Tororo district woman MP, Sarah Opendi, asked the World Bank to concentrate on its goal of ending poverty worldwide, stressing that Uganda will not recognize homosexuality as a human right.
“The goal of the statute we passed was to prevent sin from entering this nation. The goal of the Anti-Homosexuality Act is to safeguard the nation’s youth. We won’t permit the sexualization or sodomization of our kids while calling it a human right, stated Opendi.
She emphasized that some Ugandans may be trying to deceive the World Bank and its partners, particularly those who are only out for themselves. When they succeed in their goals, these people will eventually go back to leading “normal” lives, according to Opendi.
She made clear that Uganda is firmly opposed to sexualizing minors and sees such practices as being incompatible with the moral standards established by God. “God created human beings, a man and a woman, and he gave us specific commandments, which we are following.
The World Bank did not create humans. We won’t back down and allow sin being presented as a human right, declared Opendi.
The MP for Bugiri Municipality, Asuman Basalirwa, charged that the World Bank had cut off financing without fully comprehending the terms of the Anti-Homosexuality Act.
He made it clear that no Ugandan would be detained for failing to disclose gay behavior unless those acts were done against weaker populations, including children.
The World Bank’s comment, according to Basalirwa, shows a lack of legal knowledge.
“When you read the World Bank’s statement, it gives the false idea that everyone will have committed a crime if they fail to report incidents of homosexuality.
We have a problem with either purposeful misrepresentation, deliberate distortion, or complete ignorance of this rule, said Basalirwa.
Additionally, Basalirwa disproved the World Bank’s assertion that people might not receive healthcare because of their sexual orientation and called it a myth.
He claimed that when someone sought medical attention in Uganda, no one was ever questioned about their sexual orientation and that any doctor who did so would be breaking their Hippocratic oath.
According to Basalirwa, the World Bank is spreading misleading material to give the idea that people who identify as gay or who are viewed as gay will not receive medical care because of their sexual orientation, which is against Ugandan law.
MPs stressed the significance of comprehending the context and contents of the Anti-Homosexuality Act as they voiced concerns about the influence of Ugandan gay rights activists and requested the World Bank to reconsider its position.
They underlined Uganda’s dedication to upholding its principles and legal framework while safeguarding children.
