Kampala, Uganda –Ntinda Youth Choir (NYC) is hosting a grand Thanksgiving celebration today at Ntinda SDA Church in Luzira District, commemorating 15 years of music and ministry. This milestone event, dubbed the “NYC Homecoming,” is a reflection of the choir’s dedication to God through worship, service, and music over the years.
According to sources from the choir, the day will be filled with powerful live performances of hymns and songs, tracing the choir’s inspiring journey from its humble beginnings to its current standing as a vibrant musical ministry. Attendees will experience a unique blend of worship, gratitude, and reflection, celebrating the countless lives impacted by the choir’s dedication to ministry.
Pastor Emanuel Kisala Katamba, the church leader at Ntinda SDA Church, underscored the spiritual significance of the event in his invitation to Christians across Luzira District and the Central Uganda Conference. “Thanksgiving opens the door to God’s blessings,” he said. “Today is not just about celebrating a milestone; it’s about acknowledging God’s faithfulness and abundant grace that have carried us this far.”
He further encouraged attendees to support the choir and embrace the unity and gratitude central to this celebration. “Your presence today is a testament of faith and love that strengthens our community and secures the future of our church,” he added.
Mrs. Norah Mubiru, a key organizer of the event, announced that a special offertory would be collected during the celebration to aid in purchasing land for Ntinda SDA Church. This initiative aims to establish a permanent home for the church’s growing activities and ministries.
“This Thanksgiving celebration is not just a moment to reflect on our journey but also an opportunity to build for the future,” Mubiru said.
The event also serves as a reunion for past and present NYC members, allowing them to reconnect, relive cherished memories, and reignite their shared passion for ministry. It’s a moment of fellowship that brings together the broader church community to honor the choir’s legacy and support its continued mission.
Samuel Kajoba, the NYC chairperson, warmly invited all well-wishers to be part of the day’s events. “This 15-year journey is a testament to God’s faithfulness and the unwavering support of our community,” he said. “We welcome everyone to join us in celebrating, worshiping, and reflecting on His goodness as we look forward to an even brighter future.”
