Vlogger Isma Olaxess’ Killer Waited Calmly For 2 Hours

According to preliminary investigations, Ibrahim Lubega Tusibira, also known as Isma Olaxess, was assassinated on Saturday night close to his home in Kyanja by a cool-headed, steel-nerved professional killer.

Olaxess alias Jjaja Ichuli, a well-known vlogger, was fatally shot at around 9.20 p.m., reportedly by an unmasked assailant confident in his target and goal.

The likelihood that the assailant followed the victim’s movements has been ruled out by the police closed-circuit television (CCTV) teams at Kampala Central police station, Kira Road, and Kira Division.

Security sources claim that until Tusubira’s Toyota Hiace, registration number UBK 213D, branched off the road and joined the access route leading to his neighborhood of residence, where police cameras could no longer see it, the interconnected CCTV systems showed it moving without any suspicious vehicle or motorcycle trailing it.

Security sources claimed: “Our cameras caught him in the co-driver’s seat and he was being driven by the person we have already known as Mathias Waiswa.”

“Waiswa has been his personal companion and driver, so we have been told. Our investigation reveals no car or motorcycle was pursuing him, yet his attacker waited patiently for him.

Since then, Waiswa, who was unharmed during the incident, has verified that Tusubira was being driven by him, according to Luke Owoyesigyire, deputy spokesperson for the Kampala Metropolitan police. Waiswa is currently being protected as a critical witness, according to the police.

According to Owoyesigyire, “He was driving his motor vehicle, registered under number UBK 213D, with his driver, Mr. Waswa Mathias.”

The unidentified shooter opened fire on the car while carrying an SMG, killing Tusubira who was in the passenger seat at the time of the attack, according to preliminary reports.

According to reports, Tusubira’s murderer arrived at the crime scene about two hours earlier and was observed by residents, who were unconcerned by his presence. Locals have even since told police that, unlike in the earlier gun murders, the killer was not wearing a mask.

A security source claimed, “The residents observed him at around 7 pm and he remained wandering in the same location. Since there were numerous other persons travelling in other directions along the same access path, the occupants had no cause for alarm. However, they observed the same individual quickly approaching Isma’s car and starting to fire from the co-driver’s seat, according to a security source.

When asked about the appearance of the murderer, Owoyesigyire stated that police CCTVs did not cover the crime scene. However, he claimed that authorities had discovered that numerous private residences nearby had CCTVs that could have recorded the entire shooting occurrence.

The villagers, he claimed, “are still in shock.” “However, we are asking the owners of the houses with CCTV cameras that we have observed to share the video with us. We will be able to provide information on the murderer and how it all happened once we have access to these CCTV footage, according to Owoyesigyire.

Security officials believe the reason the killer chose not to shoot the driver was because someone briefed him on where he was sitting in the car.

“When committing a murder, the shooter makes sure to kill everyone inside so the target has no chance of surviving. However, in this instance, the gunman seemed to be absolutely certain, which raises the possibility that someone saw Isma boarding the car and told the murderer.

Many Ugandans, including parliament speaker Anita Among and general Muhoozi Kainerugaba, have subsequently denounced Tusubira’s murder and demanded police to look into it right now and catch those responsible. Hundreds of people came to his ancestral home in Nkonkonjeru, Mukono district, to attend his burial yesterday.

The reason for his death is still unknown, but he had a poisonous tongue that had lashed out at many people, particularly those who supported the opposition, as well as several high-ranking government officials, including Speaker Anita Among and Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, among others.
