WAKISO – Authorities in Wakiso District have ordered the temporary closure of a private primary school following the death of a 14-year-old pupil who was found hanging inside a dormitory in what police are investigating as a suspected suicide.
The deceased, identified as John Terry Kisekka, a Primary Five pupil at Kololo Junior School, was discovered by fellow pupils on the evening of Tuesday, March 3, 2026, after they returned from evening study.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Rachael Kawala, the body was found tied with a red scarf and suspended from a roofing beam inside the dormitory.
Police were notified immediately and responded to the scene, cordoning off the area before transporting the body for postmortem examination.
As part of ongoing investigations, the school director and the dormitory matron were taken into custody to assist police in establishing the circumstances surrounding the incident.

District education officials confirmed that the school has been closed temporarily to allow thorough investigations and to provide time for students and staff to recover from the trauma.
