Tragedy: Angry Son Kills Mother’s Lover After Finding Them Having Live Affairs In Potato Garden
In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through Jenga village in Kitgum District, a serious manhunt is underway for Ochira Siliman, a male adult accused of brutally murdering Ocakacon Ben, his mother’s 54-year-old lover. The alleged motive behind the heinous act is said to be the discovery of an affair between Ben and Siliman’s mother, Aloch Filder, in a potato garden near their home.
According to Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga, the incident occurred on the night of October 31, 2023, around 9 pm. Siliman is reported to have confronted Ben in a fit of rage, beating him repeatedly with a stick until he succumbed to the fatal assault. Following the gruesome act, Siliman callously abandoned Ben’s lifeless body in the garden.
Enanga stated in a brief statement, “He boxed and hit the victim repeatedly with a stick, killing him instantly, and thereafter, abandoned his body in the garden.” The police promptly transported Ben’s body to Kitgum General Hospital for post-mortem examination before handing it over to grieving relatives for a dignified burial.
Expressing strong condemnation for acts of elderly abuse by children, Enanga highlighted the premeditated nature of Siliman’s actions, revealing that the son had been spying on his mother before launching the deadly attack. Emphasizing the severity of the crime, Enanga asserted, “Efforts are now in place to trace the whereabouts of the suspect and bring him to book.”
The tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of unchecked anger and violence within families. As the manhunt intensifies, the community is left grappling with the aftermath of a senseless crime that has claimed a life and shattered the tranquility of Jenga village in Kitgum.
