By Gad Masereka
The Ugandan youth brand Bazzukulu Ba Museveni are preparing to throw a grand birthday party for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on September 8th 2023 according to the report gathered by The New Light Paper.
President Museveni, born in 1944, about eighteen years before Uganda’s independence, will turn 79 on September 15, 2023.
Museveni, son of the late Amos Kaguta and Esteri Kokundeka Nganzi of Ntumgamo District, western Uganda in the Ankole region, has been Uganda’s head of state since 1986 after successfully leading a guerrilla war for liberation in the jungles in the Luwero triangle.
It should be noted that in 2021, a section of youth opposition organized a protest on the occasion of President Museveni’s birthday when he was 76 years old, but of course they were subdued by the Ugandan police.
The youths were then led by the current Luwero County Representative, Hon. Brenda Nabukenya dismissed President Museveni’s year of birth by referring to him as an extremely old person.
However, according to reliable sources, it was a malicious attempt to gain political gain and support for the group responsible for Hon. Nabukenya Brenda, then leader of the Uganda Young Democratic Party, the youth wing of the Uganda Democratic Party (DP) under Hon. Nobert Mao, served as Minister of Justice and Constitution during the administration of President Museveni.
Returning to this year’s celebration, Bazzukulu Ba Museveni, led by their national coordinator, is also the director of ONC Kyambogo’s national president’s office and also a presidential adviser on key issues, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, will hold a big event birthday celebration for the president Museveni on September 8, 2023 in the Kololo Independent Area.
Sources inside NRM have provided us with reliable information that the event was checked by security agencies and that several key political figures joined the Bazzukulu Ba Museveni organizers to help with the event to become successful.
Dr Brenda Tibamwenda the Spokesperson of the Office of the National Chairman further affirmed the birthday via her Twitter handle @brendatibs27 on the 13th of August, 2023 in a post stating thus; “mark your calendar date as 08th Sept. 2023 at Kololo Airstrip as we celebrate H.E Museveni’s Birthday in a memorable journey of his leadership.”
The pioneer mega Museveni birthday celebration which is to run under the theme, “Developing the Culture of Entrepreneurship in Youth, Women plus all Ugandans” wil focus on promoting President Museveni’s agenda of socio-economic transformation by empowering the said groups to secure their future through Wealth and Job Creation while reflecting on his achievements in the last 78 years of his life journey.
On inquiry about the funding to the event, the ONC Officer In-Charge of Mobilization Ms. Rosette Kazaire clarified via a telephone conversation that “all funds are donations from the Bazzukulu and friends of Muzeei who are contributing at a free will”.
This birthday event has turned into the talk in the cities across the country with the Office of the National Chairman Network of Coordinators intensifying what they refer to as a worthy cause celebration on traditional and digital media stations in Uganda.
This will be the very first publicly celebrated birthday for President Museveni away from his usually private celebrations organized by his family members. To confirm the attendance of all NRM and State party bigwigs for this September 8, 2023 event, our source at the State informed us that;
“Yeah yeah everyone here is warming up for this big event that has been authorized by the relevant authorities, we can’t miss something Bazzukulu organized for their beloved jajja. In fact, Muzee is very happy about this and we’ll continue supporting them.
