Ugandan entrepreneur and Managing Director of the Ruparelia Group, Rajiv Ruparelia, has been named among the top young leaders in Africa by the prestigious Choiseul 100 Africa 2024 ranking. This annual list, compiled by the Institut Choiseul, recognizes outstanding African leaders under the age of 40 who are making substantial contributions to the economic growth and development of the continent.
Rajiv, who has led the Ruparelia Group, Uganda’s largest conglomerate, to new heights under his dynamic leadership, is the only Ugandan to feature in this year’s ranking. His role in overseeing and expanding the group’s interests across sectors like real estate, hospitality, finance, and agriculture has earned him recognition as one of Africa’s most influential young economic leaders.
Expressing his gratitude for the accolade, Rajiv took to social media to share the news. “It’s an honor to be included in the #Choiseul100Africa 2024 list. This recognition is a reflection of the hard work and commitment of the entire Ruparelia Group team. Together, we continue to push the boundaries of what is possible, not just in Uganda, but across Africa.” He added, “Being the only Ugandan recognized this year makes it even more special, and I am inspired to further contribute to Africa’s economic transformation.”
His father, Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, one of Uganda’s most renowned business moguls, also celebrated the achievement. “Rajiv’s vision, dedication, and innovative approach have transformed Ruparelia Group, positioning it as a leader in multiple industries. I couldn’t be prouder of his accomplishments, and this recognition from the Choiseul Institute is a testament to his leadership and strategic direction,” he stated.
The Choiseul 100 Africa ranking, now celebrating its 10th year, has become a symbol of excellence, highlighting young African talents who are shaping the continent’s future. Since its inception, the ranking has identified over 800 young leaders from 50 African nations, creating a powerful network of individuals who are driving change, fostering economic growth, and making lasting impacts across the continent. Rajiv’s inclusion in the 2024 list underscores his growing influence in both Uganda and the wider African business community.
