UBC Journalist Allegedly Killed During Lydia Jazmine Performance at Hotel Africana

On March 1, 2024, at 11 PM, police at Jinja Road registered a murder incident during a music show at Hotel Africana involving Lydia Jazmine.
It is reported that during the music gala, Aine Bonus and his colleagues were entering the venue when a commotion erupted. Although his colleagues retreated, Aine remained, and moments later, he was struck on the head by an unknown person with a blunt object, rendering him unconscious.
He was rushed to Mulago Hospital by his colleagues, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The case has been registered as murder, and one suspect, Kimera Sharif, has been arrested to assist with investigations. According to Kampala Metropolitan Area Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, Aine was an employee of UBC, the state broadcaster.
