In a rather sophisticated development, the police have linked the gun used in the killing of Richard Muhumuza to the assassination of Isma Olaxess in 2023. Muhumuza, who was a bodyguard to Pastor Bugingo, was in the vehicle with him when it was riddled with bullets by unknown assailants in Namungoona a Kampala Suburb. The police have announced a 20 million shillings reward for anyone with information regarding the suspects.
The police have connected the firearm used in the attempted murder of Bugingo and the killing of Richard Muhumuza to the cold-blooded assassination of vlogger and critic Isma Olaxess, who was shot while on his way home. The killer weapon has been identified as a pistol and police states that the style of the attacks are almost similar. The police spokesperson has announced a 20 million cash bounty for anyone with information regarding the attackers on Pastor Bugingo.
The Special Investigation Division in Kubuli has taken over the investigations and the overall management of the case arising from speculations reported on various social media platforms. While investigations are ongoing, the police have obtained witness statements, forensics and ballistic reports, postmortem reports, and CCTV footage from both police and private cameras.
