The Minister for ICT and National Guidance has supported the construction of Karubeize Church of Uganda in Kanungu district, contributing 20 million shillings and pledging additional support for the 2 billion facility. This new church, dedicated to the memory of Kezekia and Peresi Bagwowabo, parents of former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi, saw Mbabazi’s family contributing 100 million shillings, with two individuals he mentored in China each contributing 50 million.
During the thanksgiving service, Baryomunsi lauded Mbabazi’s parents for promoting love, togetherness, and unity through their gospel teachings. He challenged the church to maintain the spiritual and salvation-focused legacy of the movement.
Archbishop Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu delivered a sermon emphasizing love, integrity, and hard work as crucial values for guiding the younger generation. Despite being preachers, Mbabazi’s parents groomed a Prime Minister who significantly contributed to Uganda’s development.
Former Premier AMAMA MBABAZI, in his address, announced reconciliation with Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, highlighting unity and togetherness. He stressed that their differences were set aside upon discovering Baryomunsi’s connection to his wife’s family. Minister Baryomunsi clarified that there is no tension with Mbabazi, commending him for his significant contributions as the MP for Kinkizi West and as Prime Minister. This acknowledgment led him to join Mbabazi in commemorating the life of his parents.
Mbabazi expressed that constructing a church in honor of his parents is the best tribute, recognizing their service to the family and Kanungu residents. The family paid homage to the deceased by laying wreaths on their graves, acknowledging their contributions to Kanungu and the family.
