The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has proudly announced its receipt of a distinguished award, a testament to the city’s commitment to technological innovation.

The accolade was secured through the groundbreaking “Weyonje” app, a catalyst for transforming Kampala into a smart city.

In a remarkable achievement, KCCA not only clinched the award but also received a commendation certificate and scholarships for the 2024 international program. This recognition marks a significant milestone in celebrating the success of Kampala as a city poised for excellence.

Outshining competitors from 143 countries, Uganda emerged as the second-best country globally in this esteemed competition. The focus of these awards was to acknowledge countries leveraging technology through dedicated apps, ultimately contributing to the development of smart and healthy cities.
