Shock as body of man with hands tied, hanged on a tree is retrieved from Nakulabye
An incident involving a body of a man with his wrists tied and hanging from a tree in Masiro Zone 3 of Nakulabye Parish, Rubaga Division is being investigated by the police in Old Kampala.
Concerned members of the public, particularly boda boda riders, reported the occurrence today at 6:46 a.m. They believe it to be a case of murder by hanging involving an unidentified male adult in his early 30s; the body was discovered hanging from the tree with both hands tied together.
Luke Owoyesigyire, a spokesman for the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police, reported that Nakulabye Police and Uganda People’s Defense Force (UPDF) officers quickly roped off the area.
Further information will be shared “as they become available” because the inquiry is still underway.
“Old Kampala Police is committed to fully investigating this incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the deceased person’s death,” the statement reads.
Owoyesigyire pleaded with the populace to be patient and quiet while “we conduct our investigation.”
He said, “We are kindly asking anyone with any information that could aid us in our investigations to come forward and cooperate with the police.”
