Just In: Former MP Kato Lubwama Is Dead
In the early hours of Wednesday morning (7 June 2023) Kato Lubwama, a well-known comedian and former member of parliament for Uganda, was declared dead.
The heartbreaking news of Kato Lubwama’s passing flooded social media just after midnight on Tuesday night and into the early hours of Wednesday.
Local event promoter Bajjo, real name Andrew Mukasa, broke the news by announcing Kato Lubwama’s passing on TikTok.
Although the exact reason for Lubwama’s passing has not been made public, reports indicate that he died of a heart attack at the Stana Medical Center in Bunamwaya, where he frequently went for checks.
Heart issues have been a problem for Kato Lubwama in recent years.
Kato Lubwama, the founder of Diamonds Ensemble, Diamonds Production, and B24 TV, underwent heart surgery in March 2022.
He was eventually airlifted to Turkey, where he had a successful procedure and seemed to have stabilized. Despite this, he continued to have regular medical checks to keep track of his condition.
