Liberation Day: Former Kyabazinga of Busoga to be Honored, while Heads of State Not Invited
By Ivan Kaahwa
The former Kyabazinga of Busoga, Henry Wako Muloki, and 52 others will receive a medal for their contributions during the NRA Liberation struggle. All guests and the community are expected to arrive by 9 am at St. John SSS Wakitaka Play Ground in Jinja Northern Division.
Minister for Presidency Milly Babalanda stated that invited guests arriving after the president will not be allowed in the VIP tent. Not more than 800 guests have been invited to attend the celebrations. She also mentioned that the National Organizing Committee has not yet received invitations for state visitors to attend the Liberation Day celebrations. This is because most heads of state are still within the country after attending the NAM and G-77 Summits held in Kampala, and that’s why invitations were not extended to them for the 38th NRM/NRA Liberation Day.
All guests occupying the VIP tent are required to test for COVID-19, while members of the public are free to attend without the same protocols.
