By Gad Masereka
A woman is being detained by Kibaale police in relation to the death of her spouse. The suspect is Clementine Mukamuligo, a citizen of Kibaale district’s Kacu village in the Kyakazihire sub-county.
Around 11 p.m. on Monday, she is suspected of killing her husband, Doriko Kalega. The pair allegedly got into a fight for unspecified reasons, and Mukamuligo allegedly grabbed a stick and whacked Kalega in the head, instantly killing him.
She reportedly left his lifeless body in the house and escaped, but on Tuesday morning she turned herself in to Kibaale police. A neighbor, Constance Asiimwe, claims that they waited in vain for the pair to wake up on Tuesday, which prompted them to inform the local authorities.
……………………. …….. According to Julius Hakiza, the police spokesperson for the Albertine district, Mukamuligo turned herself in to the Kibaale police station out of concern for her life.
According to him, police responded quickly to the scene of the crime and transported the body to Kibaale Health Center IV for a postmortem before giving it to the family members for burial.
