‎KAMPALA  City socialite and businessman Bryan Kirumira, popularly known as Bryan White, has finally broken his silence on the controversy surrounding the late Carol, saying he is a victim of a calculated smear campaign by his detractors.
‎The flamboyant tycoon, who has often made headlines for his philanthropy and flashy lifestyle, told this publication that the allegations linking him to Carol’s death are “false, malicious, and intended to destroy” his reputation.

‎“They want to finish me.”

‎In an emotionally charged interview, Bryan said his name is being dragged through the mud by envious individuals who cannot stand his success.
‎“I am innocent. People just want to finish me,” he said. “Those who once benefited from my generosity are now turning against me. But God is watching.”
‎He recounted how he has supported hundreds of struggling youths through his Bryan White Foundation, offering them food, accommodation, and mentoring.
‎“I have always helped young boys and girls from the ghettos. I give them a place to sleep, feed them, and show them how to work hard,” he said.
‎Bryan revealed that it was his close friend, Babiyre, who introduced Carol to him. He said he took her in purely out of compassion and guidance — not romance.
‎“Carol was like a daughter to me, not a lover,” he said firmly. “I saw potential in her and wanted to help her achieve her dreams.”

‎Denies relationship and State House funding claims

‎The tycoon strongly denied ever dating Carol, calling the rumors a fabrication meant to “feed gossip and online hate.”
‎“I have never dated Carol. There’s not a single day we were in any romantic relationship,” he said.
‎Bryan also dismissed allegations that he receives funding from the State House, insisting that his wealth is self-made.
‎“That’s another big lie. I’ve never received a single shilling from State House. I hustle for my money, I invest, and I give back to my people,” he emphasized.

‎“My home is open, not a military camp.”

‎Refuting social media claims that security operatives are stationed at his Salama Road residence, Bryan described the reports as “cooked-up lies.”
‎“My home is open. Everyone who comes there knows what we do — we hustle, we share ideas, we eat together, and we dream together,” he said.
‎The socialite, who is still recovering from burns sustained during the incident, expressed pain over the falsehoods circulating about him online.
‎“While I was fighting for my life, people were celebrating and spreading lies. They said I killed someone, that I was hiding. But I have been here, facing everything like a man,” he said.

‎“I was betrayed by my own”

‎Bryan believes the entire saga stems from people who once benefited from his generosity and later turned against him when he stopped giving out money.
‎“Some of these people used to eat from my plate. When I stopped giving them money, they became bitter, and now they want to bury me with lies,” he said.

‎“The truth will come out.

‎Despite the controversy, Bryan vowed to continue supporting the youth, although he will now be more cautious about whom he helps.
‎“I have learnt my lesson. I’ll never stop helping people, but I’ll be wiser,” he said. “I still love my country and my people. I am not a killer; I am a giver who was betrayed.”
‎As he concluded, the tycoon sent a message to his critics and those doubting his innocence:
‎“They can talk and twist stories, but they will never destroy Bryan White. The truth will come out.”
