
KAMPALA, UGANDA | Xinhua | Uganda on Thursday reopened several border crossing posts with the jap Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), including areas shut to positions held by the March 23 Circulate (M23) revolt group.
Felix Kulayigye, Uganda’s militia spokesperson, advised Xinhua by telephone that President Yoweri Museveni on Wednesday ordered the reopening of the Bunagana, Ishasha, Busanza, and varied border posts.
Fixed with security authorities, the border posts were closed in gradual January after M23 rebels captured Goma, the capital of the DRC’s North Kivu Province.
“It’s correct the president closing night ordered the reopening of the border posts, and indeed this morning the Bunagana border put up become reopened,” said Kulayigye.
Ugandan Chief of Defense Forces Muhoozi Kainerugaba, on Wednesday night, advised all militia commanders alongside the shared border to allow folks to transfer freely and conduct industry. ■
