Speke Resort Munyonyo, a prominent member of the Ruparelia Group, has earned the prestigious title of Sustainable Hotel of the Year at the 2024 Ekkula Pearl of Africa Tourism Awards. The luxury five-star resort emerged victorious after competing against other renowned establishments such as Four Points by Sheraton, Serena Hotels, and Aquarius Kigo Resort, at the seventh edition of the awards held on November 15 at Sheraton Hotel in Kampala.

The Ekkula Pearl of Africa Awards & Exhibitions, organized annually by the Africa Tourism and Environment Initiatives (ATEI), celebrates outstanding contributions to Uganda’s tourism sector. This year’s focus was on sustainability within the hospitality industry, making Speke Resort Munyonyo’s win particularly significant.

Known for its commitment to eco-friendly practices, the resort stands as a symbol of sustainable luxury, blending green energy initiatives, water conservation, waste reduction, and responsible material sourcing.
