NRM Launches Manifesto Week; Reflects Its Commitment Of Transformative Leadership, Governance

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has launched the it’s Manifesto week at a function held at the office of the prime minister in kampala.

The minister for presidency hon Milly Babalanda who represented the Prime minister of Uganda Rt Hon Robbina Nabanja as the guest of honor reveled that, NRM been at the forefront of Uganda’s political landscape since its inception. 

Over the years, the NRM Manifesto has been a journey, aiming to address the evolving needs of Ugandans in a rapidly changing global landscape.

It is a promise to uphold the principles of NRM which are Social -Economic transformation; Pan Africanism, Patriotism and Democracy. NRM’s Manifesto for 2021-2026, reflects the party’s commitment to continuing its legacy of transformative leadership and governance. This is reflected within the themes of the various Manifestos since 1996.

The NRM manifesto week  has been running under different themes, 1986-1996  Ushering in a new and better future for the long-suffering people of Uganda Ten Point Program 1996-2001 Tackling the Tasks Ahead. Priority was to ensure Prosperity, Transparency and Peace. 2001-2006 Consolidating the Achievements. Major focus was strengthening Peace, Unity, and Democracy & Modernisation of the country and building a professional army. 2006-2011 Prosperity for All. The commitment was to ensure Prosperity for All, Transformation and Peace and the country would not be plunged into chaos under multiparty politics. 2011-2016 Peace, Unity and Transformation for Prosperity. Betterment and effectiveness in service delivery, creation of jobs, and consolidation of rule of law, investment in commercialisation of agriculture, oil and gas. 2016-2021 Steady Progress Taking Uganda to modernity through jobs creation and inclusive development. 2021-2026 Securing Your Future Towards meaningful growth and development of Uganda.

The Manifesto 2021-2026 under the theme “Securing Your Future,” is a statement of intent of NRM stance towards meaningful growth and development of Uganda, eliminating the obstacles of poor infrastructure, high cost of Capital, high cost of energy, reducing the cost of doing business, ensuring political stability, tackling backwardness and fighting against corruption leading to a competitive economy.

The Manifesto 2021-2026 is broadly structured along five Thematic Areas of:Creating Jobs and wealth for all Ugandans, Delivering Education, Health and Water; Ensuring Justice and Equity Protecting Life and Property and and Achieving Economic and Political Integration. Said Babalanda.
