In the heart of Kazo district, a tale of betrayal and deception has unfolded, leaving a trail of broken promises and shattered trust. Hon Jenipher Muheesi’s name has become synonymous with corruption and ineptitude. A member of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Muheesi’s political career has been marred by controversy, first and foremost she rigged the 2020 NRM primary elections as well as the 2021 general elections against the will of the people of Kazo.In addition to this is she has taken away bread from the mouth of many youth and women by her fraudulent acts (obufeere); the very people she swore to serve.

With no clear education and service background, her tenure has been marked by unfulfilled pledges, Muheesi’s leadership has been a stark reminder that power, when misused, can have far-reaching consequences. The people of Kazo, once hopeful for change, now find themselves at a crossroads, forced to confront the harsh reality of Muheesi’s failed promises.

Her tenure has been a masterclass in deception, with Muheesi’s silence in Parliament speaking volumes about her commitment to the people of Kazo. She is ranked as the worst MP who has not uttered a single word in the august house since last year.Critical issues like infrastructure development, education, and healthcare have been neglected, leaving the district in a state of stagnation.

But perhaps most damning are the numerous allegations of financial impropriety leveled against Muheesi. From swindling millions from unsuspecting youths to mismanaging funds meant for vital projects, her actions have left a scar on the community, eroding trust and fueling discontent. These include:

  • Swindling 31,000,000/- from 724 girls who paid 50,000/- each to go for kyeeyo, with only 94 girls being taken.
  • Embezzling 76,000,000/- from 311 boys who paid 250,000/- each for a similar opportunity, with only 5 boys being taken.
  • Mismanaging 58,000,000/- from the Kazo Women’s SACCO, leaving 150 women without answers.
  • Failing to account for 37,000,000/- raised for Burunga Primary School.
  • Misappropriating funds meant for women’s groups, with 19 groups missing out on 30M each.
  • Her husband’s receipt of 800M for coffee seedlings, with no clear beneficiaries.
  • Unaccounted constituency funds.
  • Mismanaging donations for rural water and sanitation projects.

As the people of Kazo prepare to chart a new course, they must remember that leadership is not just about occupying a seat, but about serving with integrity and purpose. It is time to demand more from their representatives, to hold them accountable for their actions, and to choose leaders who truly embody the values of transparency, accountability, and service.

In this quest for better leadership, one name stands out – Hon Molly Kamukama, a polished and effective leader with a proven track record of delivering results. As Kazo looks to the future, it is time to turn the page on Muheesi’s failed leadership and embrace a new era of transparency, accountability, and progress in the forthcoming 2026 elections.
