Minister for ICT and National Guidance and Member of Parliament for Kinkiizi County East, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, has joined the people of Kayungwe Subcounty to celebrate Easter festivities. Welcomed by enthusiastic and excited believers, Baryomunsi called for unity, love, and togetherness among believers in Kayungwe Subcounty as they celebrated the Easter Season.
He emphasized that emulating what Jesus did is a sign of honor and respect for the principles of God. Baryomunsi noted that on Good Friday, Christians remember the crucifixion of Jesus, which was carried out in an embarrassing manner. He highlighted that those who killed Jesus didn’t know that it was God’s will, which instilled the roots of faith in the world, thereby emphasizing that Easter is a very important day to strengthen people’s faith.
He used the opportunity to condole with those who have lost their loved ones, including those who are sick, while thanking God for those able to engage in this year’s celebrations. Baryomunsi stated that the Easter season is a period where believers learn that Jesus was sent to perform miracles, including resurrecting Lazarus, which is among the reasons Jesus was killed.
He called on believers to ask themselves whether such actions are good, to kill those who do good, hence posing a question to congregants on whether they could have killed Jesus if they were to encounter him. “Let us learn to love one another without segregation of race, wealth, religion, or family. Let us embrace what Jesus taught us. Love means working with one another, sharing, caring, and sharing meals with one another even in dire situations.” He emphasized.
Members of Kayungwe Church of Uganda decried the lack of electricity connection in the area and support for the construction of the residence of the reverend for the Church. In response to the electricity outcry, Minister Baryomunsi assured believers that the government is embarking on a project to ensure connectivity, starting with institutions and places where power has not been connected.
The Minister contributed to the construction of the Kayungwe Church of Uganda house with 30 bags of cement and all the iron sheets needed for roofing.
At Kayanja Catholic Church, still in Kayungwe Subcounty, Baryomunsi contributed 1 million towards the procurement of chairs for the Church and pledged to provide windows to complete the catechist’s house.
