Bombo-Kalule, Uganda – In a spirited ceremony at the Excel Vocational Training Centre, the Head of Office of the National Chairman (ONC), SPA/PA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, showered accolades on Director Mr. Mwanje Shafiq for his unwavering dedication to empowering Uganda’s youth through vocational training.
Addressing a jubilant crowd during the institution’s 12th Graduation Ceremony on Friday, February 23, 2024, Namyalo emphasized the commitment of the ONC in skilling and empowering the nation’s youth. She praised Mwanje’s efforts in spreading the gospel of self-empowerment by imparting vocational skills to the young generation.
“As Office of the National Chairman, we are deeply committed to providing support and resources for the prosperity of our youth. We commend Mr. Mwanje Shafiq and his team for their dedication to shaping the future of our nation,” Namyalo stated amidst cheers from parents and graduates.
The ceremony witnessed the awarding of diplomas and certificates to 1120 students in various vocational and business disciplines. Highlighting the institution’s remarkable performance, a special report revealed a staggering 97% passing rate in the last two years, showcasing the effectiveness of its skill-based education model.
However, amidst the celebrations, challenges loom large. The management highlighted financial constraints hindering the enrollment of needy students and the shortage of computers for digital skills training. Director Mwanje appealed to government bodies, NGOs, and well-wishers to lend support in addressing these obstacles.
Expressing gratitude, Mwanje extended special appreciation to Hajjat Namyalo, the NRM Government, Luwero District LG, teaching staff, students, and parents for their collaborative efforts in achieving the institute’s milestones.
The event also saw the presence of notable figures including Mr. Nzire Amos Kaguta, the NRM Chairperson for Kiruhura District, and Mr. Majid Saffar, Ambassador of Iran to Uganda, underscoring the significance of vocational education in national development.
Excel Vocational Training Centre, since its establishment in 2006, has graduated over 2000 trainees in diverse fields such as Industrial Art and Design, Hospitality Management, Automotive Engineering, Construction, Electronics, Journalism, and Early Childhood Development.
As Uganda continues its journey towards economic prosperity, initiatives like Excel Vocational Training Centre serve as beacons of hope, equipping the youth with the skills and knowledge necessary to contribute meaningfully to society.
