Police authorities in Kisoro swiftly responded, apprehending three individuals suspected to be involved in the heinous crime.
Gerald Bagyenyi, Ezra Monday, and Thomas Arinaitwe, residents of Birara village, reportedly approached Calist’s residence during the early hours of February 17 under the pretense of a medical emergency. They claimed that a fellow villager, Allen Nyirabyiringiro, was in dire need of urgent medical attention.
Trusting their appeal for assistance, Calist accompanied the suspects, unaware of the sinister intentions concealed beneath their guise of goodwill. The chilling discovery revealed fresh wounds on Calist’s head, indicative of a savage assault that resulted in fatal injuries. The swift action of law enforcement saw the immediate apprehension of Bagyenyi, Monday, and Arinaitwe as prime suspects in the murder investigation.
