Top Police Officer’s Son Dies In New Style Guest House Bar Brawl; 4 Arrested

In a devastating turn of events, Vincent Ssemata, a 28-year-old son of Corporal Fiikil Ssekate, a police officer attached to the Central Police Station in Luweero, lost his life in a suspected bar brawl. The incident unfolded at New Style Guest House and Bar in Kasoma Zone, Luweero Town Council, leaving the local community in shock.
Regional Police Spokesman Sam Twiineamaziima confirmed the tragic incident, providing preliminary details surrounding the unfortunate event. On Sunday, January 28, 2024, James Mutebi, the Manager of New Style Guest House, arrived for duty and made a distressing discovery – an unknown male adult lying lifeless near the bar with a deep cut on his neck. The deceased was later identified as Vincent Ssemata.
Ssemata, a resident of Kanyogoga village, Bweyayo Parish, Luwero subcounty, Luwero district, fell victim to the violence that erupted at the establishment. The police promptly responded to the incident, registering it as a case of murder by cutting.
The Scene of Crime was meticulously visited and documented by the Scene of Crime Officers (Soco) and the Homicide Squad from Luwero Central Police Station. In an effort to aid investigations, the police introduced a Canine/Police Dog to the scene, leading to the arrest of four suspects connected to the incident.
“At press time, the body was at Luwero Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination,” stated Twiineamziima, highlighting the ongoing efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding Ssemata’s untimely demise.
