Masaka Primary School Dormitory Fire Death Toll Rises To 4
Four people have already died as a result of the fire at the Kasaana Junior School in Masaka City. Eleven students were hurt in the event, which occurred at around 4:00 in the morning.
Authorities at the school reported that fifteen students from top and primary one classes were staying in the dormitory. Arnold Tumwesige and Hillary Walugembe have been named as the most recent casualties. They perished from the wounds they received during the terrible fire.
According to Greater Masaka Regional police spokeswoman Jamada Wandera, Walugembe and Tumwesige passed away at the hospital where they were referred—Kirubu in Kampala. Malik Katende and Aloysius Ahebwa had also died earlier.
The pre-primary students Shahib Mwanje, Ssendagire Jordan, Poel Ssenoga, Grant Matovu, Muganga Martin, Alpha Wasswa, Austine Kisomose, and Elijah Ssemambo are among those who have been hurt, according to school records.
Based on preliminary police findings, it appears that the fire was most likely caused by an electrical short circuit. The school remained closed to the public at the time this report was filed, even for parents who had hurried there to pick up their kids.
