In the Lwankoni sub-county, Kyotera District, thieves broke into the Manyama Catholic sub-parish church and stole valuables from the church, including an undefined amount in offertory contributions.

Paul Ssempa, the sub-parish’s youth director, said that when they went to open the church early on Sunday morning to get ready for Sunday Mass, they saw that the main door had been damaged.

When they opened it, they discovered that numerous items from the church, including a piano, an amplifier, a microphone, and an offertory box, had been taken.

According to Ssempa, the Christians purchased the piano, microphones, and amplifiers after several of them complained about having trouble hearing music after Mass. “Since it had never happened before, this occurrence has left us as a community in fear. We beseech God to bring those thieves to justice,” he stated.

Christians urged the authorities to find the suspects so they may be brought before the legal system. Although there are many thieves in the town, Lwankoni Sub-county councilwoman Harriet Namayanja stated it is really unfortunate that they broke into the church.

Namayanja criticized the young people of only wanting free goods and not wanting to work. She claims that many young people spend all of their time wandering and gambling around the area.

The thugs broke into Manyama Sub-parish, Matale Parish, and Lwankoni Sub-County Kyotera District.

rob the hamlet of Sh20 million in savings. After robbing the church, it is said that the same robbers went to Angel Namuwawu’s house in the same hamlet, shattered the village saving box, and stole 20 million shillings from the Eyeterekera Pewosa village saving group.

At the conclusion of the year, the savings organization intended to distribute the money. Namuwawu claimed that because the banks are so far away from where they live, the group trusted her to keep the money safe.

Denis Tamale, chair of Manyama LC1, claimed that although he receives theft complaints on a regular basis, the police have not yet taken any action.

Speaking on behalf of the Greater Masaka Police, Jamada Wandera said that police are looking for the thieves and that their investigations are ongoing.
